Yup, you heard it here first. This is a Wix site. A theme I picked and drag n drop features. But why? Am I just lazy? Do I not know how to make a website? No it's simple, why reinvent the wheel. Wix gives you a great site that scales to any device and in a fraction of the time. I still have the option to run custom html and scripts. So really the only thing I missed out on was fighting flex box's and picking a color theme.
I guess it's not all good. I do wish I had access to the body code. Wix only gives you head, body start, and body end. And since it's in a iframe Google adsense can't use it for auto ad placement. I would also like to adjust margin on a few items and set width of box's. With only a few complaint I am still pleased. Just a few hours and the site was done. Adsense, Amazon, Images, everything.
So it might seem weird to be a developer using a platform like Wix but as a developer you have to figure in time and energy. Why do we use libraries and API wrappers? Time and energy. So next time you need a basic site done don't over look all the website building platforms. Just think of Wix and other platforms as another tool to speed up development time.
