As a self taught developer I have a huge hurdle to overcome. The lack of a degree. With multiple projects finished and a strong background for learning the first thing brought up in a interview is not finishing school. I have written projects in Python, C#, Java, and JavaScript. Using Api calls and storing data in databases. None of that matters without that paper.
My background and experience far exceeds any 2 year and most 4 year programs. Yet I remain unable to break into the field. This is a way for me to document the real struggle of not being a college graduate. The internet is full of people saying that you do not need a degree. Most of which are not actually developers themselves, since most of there income is from YouTube and other resources.
With all that being said I want everyone to follow me on this journey to actually land a software developer job without a degree. I will keep studying and building projects that help me stand out on a resume.
